What’s up Friends! This is another video post for Web Developer. In this video I will explain you, how to transfer or move yourWordPress site from live server to localhost.

So, Let’s started.

Login your hosting control panel.

After login you can see cPanel Home. Now, click here to File Manager and click to Public Html folder. Now, click Select All from top menu and Compress it in zip file. Download the zip file.

Go back to cPanel main page and open Backup folder and download MySQL Database Backup file form bottom.

If you have already installed local server or if not, then you go for download it from apachefriends.org and install it in your pc. Now, go to C Drive click to xampp folder then click to htdocs folder and crate a folder under htdocs folder.

Copy backup file from download folder and paste it in that folder where you create a folder under htdocs. Now, extract this file in this folder.

Open xampp control panel from and start Apache and MySQL.

Now, open browser and go to localhost page, type localhost in address bar. You see xampp welcome screen. On top right menu click to phpMyAdmin. Now, click to Databases and create a database for your WordPress site.

Now, open database download file and replace all site url. Example: http://www.yoursite.com to http://localhost/wordpress-site

Now, upload this database file in phpMyAdmin. Click your database folder and click to Import and you can see File import option. Click here Choose file button and select your database file and click to Go button for upload it. After finishing upload file then refresh once.

Now edit wp-config.php file. Change all database info and save it.

Open browser and go to your site, type localhost/siteurl. If you have faced this problem (like site page and post url not working) then you go to WordPress site folder and edit .htaccess file. Change some .htaccess code that’s it. Now, refresh your site using command Ctrl+F5.
